Last updated: 27 October 2026 · Applies to iqrra.com and the Iqrra app on web and Android.
This policy explains what the Iqrra app actually collects, where it is stored, who it is shared with,
and how you can request deletion. It is written to describe what the system does today, not what it
might do later; if what we collect changes, this page will change with it.
Quick summary: We collect what is necessary to run the app — your teacher account,
the materials you prepare, and the class lists you enter yourself. We do not sell data or use it for
advertising. You can delete your account and everything attached to it from within the app at any time.
Who we are
Iqrra is an app that helps teachers in Jordan prepare lessons in line with the Ministry of Education
curriculum. The party responsible for processing data under this policy is the Iqrra team, Jordan —
reachable at info@iqrra.com.
Data we collect
1. Teacher account data
Email address and verification status.
Password — stored hashed (bcrypt); we cannot see or recover it.
First and last name, and a profile picture if you add one.
If you choose to sign in with Google: the identifier Google sends us, and the name and email linked to it.
2. Class and student data
When you create a class in the app, you enter student names yourself. Those names, the class name,
the subject, grade level, and academic year are stored in your account and belong to you.
If you use the assessment tools, student attempts and results are also stored.
By default, a student does not need an account: the assessment reaches them via a link, and the link
itself is the identity. Since September 2026 a student or parent can optionally link a name to a real
account using a code issued by the teacher, in order to enable in-app messaging.
Teacher responsibility: You enter the student names, and you are responsible for
having the authority to do so under your school policy and applicable Jordanian regulations.
We advise entering only what is needed to identify a student within the class — no national ID
numbers, addresses, phone numbers, health notes, or personal notes.
3. Content you create
Your conversations with the assistant and what you ask of it.
What the app generates for you: lesson plans, worksheets, tests, slides, and what you save from them.
Files and media you upload to your lesson.
Feedback you send via the suggestion form on the website (the section headed «إقرأ يتطوّر بملاحظاتك», "Iqrra grows with your feedback").
4. Usage data
We record a limited set of events to understand what is actually used:
starting a session, opening a tool, saving material, exporting material, sending feedback.
These are events about the action itself, not about the content you prepared. We do not use usage data
for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with data brokers.
If you use voice input, the audio clip is sent to a transcription service provider to convert it to
text, then processed like any text you type.
5. Android waiting list
If you leave your email on the site to be invited to the Android app, told when it reaches
Google Play, and sent news about the app, we keep that address alone with our email provider and
in our own database until you unsubscribe using the link in any message we send you, or ask us
to delete it. It is used for nothing else and is not linked to an app account.
6. Site assistant questions
If you type a question into the site assistant ("Ask Iqrra"), your question reaches our own servers
in every case (they run on Google, in Belgium). We answer it first from ready-made answers written
by our team, and in that case your question does not reach any AI provider. If those answers do not
cover it, the text of your question is sent to OpenAI (listed in the table below) to write a short
reply, together with the last four messages of the conversation, which may include your earlier
questions, among them ones the ready-made answers replied to, and our replies.
We do not save the text of your questions or of the replies in our database or our logs, and we do
not ask for a name or an email address. What OpenAI keeps is governed by its own terms (see the
OpenAI row in the table below), and our hosting platform's logs and our own server logs may hold
request metadata such as the IP address, but not the text of the question. The conversation stays in your browser's memory
only and disappears when you close or reload the page.
To prevent abuse we keep a counter for each IP address in our database (with Neon, Germany
(Frankfurt)) for the one-hour window. The counter's record is kept until an occasional clean-up
removes it, and that clean-up only removes records at least 24 hours after their hour has ended, so
the IP address may be kept for a day or more. The counter holds no question text and is not linked
to what you typed. For this reason, please do not type personal data into the assistant.
Why we process this data
To run the service: creating your account, saving your materials, generating what you request.
For account security: email verification, password recovery, and limiting abuse.
To improve the app: knowing which tools are used and which are not.
To communicate with you: responding to your feedback and necessary service messages.
The basis for our processing is the performance of the service you requested, your consent where
consent is required, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the app.
Who data is shared with
We do not sell data. We use service providers who process data on our behalf and only to the extent
needed to run the app:

Your email address, and what you write in the contact form
We may disclose data if required by Jordanian law, or to protect our rights or the safety of users.
Where data is stored
Your data is stored and processed outside Jordan. Specifically:
Database — your account, classes, saved materials, and request counters: Germany (Frankfurt).
Processing servers — running the app: Belgium.
Files and media you upload: Cloudflare's storage network.
Content generation, audio transcription and replies to site assistant questions: United States.
Usage analytics: United States.
We choose service providers that adhere to recognised data protection standards and transfer to them
only the minimum needed to perform their function.
Retention
Account data and materials: kept for as long as your account exists.
On account deletion: account data and linked classes, conversations, materials, and uploaded files are deleted.
Backups: a copy of your data may remain in backups after deletion for a limited time before being
automatically replaced — not exceeding thirty days.
Request counters per IP address (to prevent abuse): kept for the one-hour window and until an
occasional clean-up removes them, which only removes records at least 24 hours after their hour has ended.
Site assistant questions: we do not store their text, or the text of the replies, in our database or our logs.
Your rights
Access: You can view your data from within the app.
Correction: You can edit your name, class data, and materials at any time.
Deletion: You can delete your account from the app settings. The app will ask you
to confirm your password — or re-enter your email if you sign in with Google — then the account
and everything linked to it is deleted, including stored files.
Objection and complaints: Contact us at
info@iqrra.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children's data
Iqrra is aimed primarily at teachers. A student or their guardian can optionally create an account using a code issued by the teacher.
That said, the app contains data about students who may be minors: names entered by the teacher in
class lists, and their assessment results. This data is entered and owned by the teacher; students are
not required to create an account to receive their assessment. When a student or parent links a name
to an account, it is voluntary and done using a code issued by the teacher.
We keep this data to the minimum possible: a name that identifies the student within their class, and
what relates to their assessment. We do not use student data for advertising and do not share it for
any marketing purpose. If you are a parent and want to know what is recorded about your child or have
it removed, contact the class teacher or contact us directly.
Data security
Communication with the site and app is encrypted via HTTPS.
Passwords are hashed and not stored as plain text.
Assessment links are also stored hashed, so the link cannot be extracted from the database.
Access to data is limited to those who need it to run the service.
No system is completely secure and we cannot promise perfect security — but we will notify you if a
breach occurs that affects your data.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the "Last
updated" date above. Significant changes will be notified within the app.
